
Overview
On arrival in Gondar you will have a city tour of the castle compound and Debrebirhan Selassie church, then drive to Debark to make preparations for camping and continue to Sankaber. From there you trek to Gich and continue to Chenek, where your two days of trekking ends. This tour can be combined with an excursion to Gorgora or the remaining historic sites like Bahir Dar, Lalibela, Axum, or even the Tigray Rock churches.

Fly to Gondar and tour of Gondar, including the Royal Enclosure with its magnificent 17th and 18th century castles (World Heritage Site), the bath of King Fasiledes, the ruins of Qusquam Palace, and the church of Debrebrihan Selassie with its 17th century wall and ceiling paintings.

Drive from Gondar via Debark to the Semien Mountains National Park up to Sankaber, acclimatization and preparation for trekking, then walk to the surrounding escarpment and viewpoints of Sankaber.

Trek from Sankaber via Jinbar Falls and Geech village to Geech. En route you have a chance to see the endemic bleeding-heart baboon (Gelada baboon).

Trek via Kedadit, Saha Gorge and Imetgogo (3926m) passing Inatiye and Kurbet Metaya to Chenek. On this day you will have the opportunity to see the Walia Ibex.

From Chenek, admiring the unique fauna and flora of the Semien Mountains and its stunning scenery, drive to Gondar. En route, with a short stop at Wolleka, visit the former village of the Black Jews (Falasha) people.

Transfer to the airport and fly back to Addis Ababa for a sightseeing tour including the Ethnological Museum, the National Archaeological Museum (home of the fossil 'Lucy'), Merkato and the Holy Trinity Cathedral. Farewell dinner with folkloric music and dance.
