Itineraries (Ethiopia) Title: BIRDING AT DEBRELIBANOS,RIFT VALLEY SYSTEM , BALE AND YABELLO Tour Code: TST 3010 Duration: 14 NIGHTS AND 15 DAYS Included visits/activities A short excursion trip to Gefersa reservoir and Debrelibanos monastery begins your tour followed by a drive to Awash National park. On our way we stop at Chelaklaka Wetland near Debre Zeit where we see a great number of ducks, and few arboreal species. A full day birding in one of the best birding sites in the Ethiopian rift valley. With few stops on the road we continue to Langano where we enjoy a pre breakfast birding in the acacia wood land by the resort, then we proceed to Abjata lake before we make our night stop at Wendo genet. The following day will be spent in Wendogenet forest. Making an early start we drive to Bale mountains national park, where you visit the endemic mountain Nyala and Minilik’s Bush buck. Then a full day birding in the Senettie Plateau,lake Awassa. Then we have a long drive to Yabello for a few local endemics like the Ethiopian Bush crow and African Golden Oriole. After this point we drive back to Addis making some overnight stops. Remark Ideal for Bird lovers. Chitto can be reached from Awassa for big number of flamingoes.
